The David Parr House, Cambridge

The David Parr House project, properly called Life and Art in a Worker’s House is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

It is a unique survival of a furnished and decorated Victorian artisan’s dwelling.  The first phase of the project will involve

the conservation of the external envelope in order to safeguard the interiors.  Internally the work will be to repair the

damaged plasterwork and woodwork, the removal of modern fittings, the installation of conservation heating, the

rationalisation of the lighting and the upgrading of the fire and security systems.  The underlying philosophy is one of

minimal intervention.  The interiors are of a unique character with hand painted plasterwork and fixtures and

fittings that will be vulnerable to damage.  For further information about this project, please visit their website,
