The Boundary wall was in a very bad state of repair and large sections of the wall had to be carefully dismantled down to
ground level with the bricks being saved for re-use wherever possible. Other sections of the wall were repaired letting in bricks where missing or decayed. All the walls were repointed and repaired in lime mortar. A total of 22,000 bricks were sourced for the brick replacements. The total wall length is 288 metres and the work took 5 months to complete. We temporarily employed two apprentices from the local college for the duration of the works to gain experience in the historic repair and rebuilding of the walls and have since employed one of them on a full time basis with us.
